Volunteer for The Art Room

The more I work in different places, the more I have come to appreciate The Art Room and the unique approach you have to enabling children to express themselves. I learnt so much volunteering with you and have brought it along with me.”  Art Room Volunteer

Taking up a Volunteer Placement with The Art Room is a way to learn about our unique approach while supporting children and young people.

Working closely with our skilled teams of practitioners, you will help to create a safe space where children and young people can explore their feelings, express themselves and grow in confidence.

Art Room Volunteers work closely with two or three children in each group. Other tasks range from cleaning paint pots and preparing food to planning the children’s needs for the next week. Read the full role description >>

You will have two days of induction training followed by regular group reflections, individual mentoring and support, and access to online and in-person training from Place2Be.

We ask that you commit to a full school day (8.30-4.30) each week for a minimum of two terms, though half days are sometimes possible.

Do you have experience working with children and young people? Are you self-reflective and able to be patient, creative and responsive with children? Are you keen to learn as part of a close working team? We’d love to hear from you
